Community Guidelines & Code of Conduct
In a diverse community of thousands of instructors spanning various countries, cultures, and languages, it is imperative for everyone to adhere to a basic set of guidelines. All community members, whether new instructors or Lucebra moderators, are expected to follow these ground rules, along with Lucebra's Instructor Terms and Conditions and our Pricing and Promotions policies.
What Belongs in the Community:
- Self-Promotion: Do not promote personal courses, blogs, products, or other forums.
- Privacy Violations: Do not share or request personal information about students or instructors.
- Off-Topic Discussions: Do not derail conversations or change subjects inappropriately.
- Offensive Language: Avoid using slurs, curse words, or any offensive language.
- Personal Attacks: Do not comment on appearances or make personal attacks based on race, gender, ethnicity, disability, religion, or other personal identities.
Moderation and Control: The Community is a forum for instructors. Aside from enforcing these guidelines, Lucebra does not exercise editorial control over conversations. We cannot guarantee the accuracy or validity of shared content.
Roles and Responsibilities of Community Guides:
- Answering Questions: Provide platform and technical assistance.
- Meaningful Conversations: Engage in in-depth, domain-specific discussions.
- Mentoring Learners: Offer support and informal mentorship on broader questions related to career opportunities and challenges.
Lucebra Code of Conduct: Our platform includes a diverse range of people, making communication both enriching and challenging. The Code of Conduct ensures a welcoming, friendly, and supportive environment for all members, regardless of their background.
Guiding Principles:
- Inclusion and Respect: Ensure inclusivity and respect for all legally protected classes.
- Continuous Development: The Code of Conduct is developed with input from community members and reviewed annually.
- Ethics and Values: Reflects the ethics and values of Lucebra's community.
- Annual Review: The code is reviewed annually and disseminated to users.
Expectations for User Conduct:
- Safety and Support: Contribute to a safe, supportive, and orderly online learning environment.
- Compliance: Adhere to all Lucebra policies, rules, and regulations.
- Respectful Interaction: Respond respectfully to directions from instructors, administrators, and personnel.
- Behavior Standards: Maintain behavior free from bullying, harassment, and discrimination.
- Accountability: Accept responsibility for actions and seek help when needed.
Inappropriate Behavior:
- Dangerous Speech: Any expression that increases the risk of violence against groups.
- Harassment and Intimidation: Offensive comments, stalking, and intimidation are prohibited.
- Violence or Threats: Violence and threats, including doxxing, are unacceptable.
- Discriminatory Language: Avoid sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or exclusionary language.
- Unwelcome Sexual Attention: Sexualized comments, jokes, or advances are not allowed.
- Influencing Misconduct: Encouraging others to violate the Code of Conduct is prohibited.
- Disruption: Sustained disruption of discussions or events will not be tolerated.
- Peer Review Abuse: Manipulating the peer review system is not allowed.
- Retaliation: Punishing someone for reporting misconduct is unacceptable.
Respect and Communication:

- Consequences for Violations: Actions range from warnings to account expulsion.

- Consequences: Misconduct may result in warnings, suspension, or expulsion based on severity.
Reporting Incidents:
- Procedure: Report incidents via the provided channels with relevant information.
